College Club for Students Class of 2025

Service Description

This is a virtual (Zoom) version of my popular College Club which addresses key aspects of the college application process and creates a fact based forum that supports the student and walks them through key aspects of the college application process. Each student will have access to their own online portal which will allow them to research colleges, plan and manage their applications/deadlines, complete assessment surveys and track their progress. All sessions will be recorded if the student is unable to attend the Zoom session. The student will be expected to submit assignments within ten days of the session if they are unable to attend. Virtual sessions include: 1. Onboarding: introduction to the process/digital platform, college timeline and developing a standardized testing strategy; 2. How to research colleges...what's out there, what to look for and the importance of a “balanced” college list; 3. College Essay Brainstorming session: the significance of the college essay and choosing a topic; 4. Essay refinement and the Common Application: how to make yours less common; 5. Activities Listing/College Tours/Letters of Recommendation; 6. Supplemental essays/UC Application; 7. Developing an application timeline/refining your college list to create options; 8. Parent session: the fundamentals of financial aid; 9. Understanding your offers/decisions Virtual Office Hours: 4 hours will be offered throughout the cycle One-One session: Package includes one individual student/family session at a time that you deem necessary Session will begin late January/early February 2024 as students enter the second semester of their junior year. Launch date will be finalized early December.
