College Club for Students Class of 2026

Service Description

This is a virtual (Zoom) version of my popular College Club which addresses key aspects of the college application process and creates a fact based forum that supports the student. Each student will have access to their own online portal which will allow them to research colleges, plan and manage their applications/deadlines, complete assessment surveys and track their progress. Beginning in October of the student's junior year through fall of their senior year they will be sent a monthly email and short video on a topic related to the college search/application process. Office hours will be held at the end of each month to answer any individual questions that the student/family may have. BOOKING A SINGLE SESSION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BEFORE BEGINNING COLLEGE CLUB-allows me to get to know your student/family and more effectively tailor recommendations/advice through College Club. Topics include: How to research colleges...what's out there, what to look for and the importance of a “balanced” college list; The role of standardized tests in the application process/developing a standardized testing strategy and free/affordable ways to prep; Tips for maximizing College Tours; The significance of the college essay and choosing a topic; Brainstorming exercises to choose an authentic topic; Essay refinement/input via customized google.doc; Common Application and Activities Listing; Letters of Recommendation; The role of supplemental essays; University of California Application (if applicable); Developing an application timeline/refining your college list to create options; The fundamentals of financial aid and how to search for scholarships.
